Alan Williams Gintonicum Oscillator

About the work

Created for designer Henry Chebaane at The Megaro Hotel in King’s Cross, London, the Gintonicum Oscillator is a three-panel triptych designed to complement the hotel’s distinctive steampunk aesthetic.

The three panels work together as one sculptural installation, creating the impression of an imagined Victorian machine or piece of fantastical industrial apparatus.

Materials and construction

Each panel combines reclaimed mechanical parts with industrial elements inspired by gas works, electrical and mechanical components.

A specially made glass-domed window forms part of the composition, while integrated lighting illuminates the panels and brings the intricate collection of components to life.
