Night Watchman was made in 2011 and marked an important turning point in Alan’s work. From this point he began refining his approach and using smaller, more detailed components to describe wildlife forms.
Made from glass, cutlery, mechanical salvage, retired tools, motorbike sprockets, bicycle spokes, gears and chain. The owl sits on a forged steel branch attached to a 5 ft sea-defence post sourced from The Wood Recycling Project in Brighton.
The work has bespoke amber-glass eyes and is protected with clear-coat lacquer.
